Minerox Arctic Starburst is a polished quartz surface that offers the beauty of natural stone with the consistency and performance of engineered quartz. Scoring 7 on the Mohs hardness scale, it is highly resistant to scratches, stains and everyday wear.
Unlike natural stone, Minerox Arctic Starburst is non-porous so it never needs sealing, resists bacteria growth and is food-safe for kitchen use. Ideal for worktops, kitchen islands, splashbacks and bathroom vanities, this polished finish is part of the Radiance collection.
Every colour contains different proportions of ingredients as the percentage of quartz is dictated by the pattern and colour of the design.
Typically 90-94% of the Minerox Quartz slab is made up of premium Grade A quartz and aggregate (e.g. mirror chips) with the remainder clean resin and pigments. With a Mohs hardness rating of 7, quartz is harder than granite and significantly more durable than marble for everyday kitchen use.
The correct ratio of ingredients and the quality of the raw quartz, resin, aggregates and pigments are extremely important for durability and finish of the product. All Minerox slabs are manufactured to exacting standards and tested for quality assurance.
Our expert local installation teams work across the UK delivering a perfect fit for every kitchen. We use state-of-the-art laser templating technology to capture ultra-accurate dimensions from your kitchen space down to sub-millimetre precision.
No guesswork, no generic measurements, no hassle. A professional templater will visit your home to digitally map every contour, cutout and edge detail. We then install with the latest seam-setting technology for perfect joins and use custom colour-matched adhesives for a flawless finish. The typical timeline from laser template to installation is approximately 2 weeks.
Minerox quartz worktops are extremely low maintenance. Because the surface is non-porous, it never requires sealing or polishing unlike natural stone. Simply wipe with a damp lint-free cloth and mild soap for everyday cleaning.
A Gemini care kit is recommended for day-to-day maintenance and a courtesy care kit, worth £60, is provided free on installation. Avoid using bleach, abrasive cleaners or scouring pads. Always use a trivet or heat mat for hot pans as prolonged direct heat can damage any quartz surface. View our full Minerox care and maintenance guide.

From our factory in the North East of England, our skilled craftspeople produce and install worktops nationwide. We call this the Gemini difference.

Every Minerox quartz worktop comes with a 25-year material warranty and a 5-year installation guarantee, both provided directly by Gemini Worktops. The material warranty covers manufacturing defects in the quartz slab itself, while the installation guarantee covers the quality of our fitting workmanship.
Because we manufacture and install every worktop ourselves, we stand behind the quality from slab to finished surface. You deal with us directly rather than a third party. If you experience any issues, our aftercare team is on hand to help. Full warranty details are provided with your order confirmation.
Quartz, granite and marble are all premium worktop materials but they differ in important ways. Quartz is engineered stone (90-94% natural quartz) and is non-porous, meaning it never needs sealing and resists staining. Granite is a natural stone that is very hard but is porous and requires periodic sealing. Marble is softer, more prone to scratching and etching from acids, and also requires regular sealing.
In terms of maintenance, quartz is the easiest to care for. For consistency of colour and pattern, quartz also has the advantage as each slab of natural stone is unique and can vary. All three materials are heat resistant, though trivets are recommended for all stone surfaces. See our full worktop comparison guide for more detail.
