Natural stones like marble and travertine can offer beautiful neutral tones, but they're porous, soft and require ongoing maintenance. They scratch easily, stain without sealing, and can harbour bacteria in their natural pitting. See our full worktop material comparison for a detailed breakdown.
Neutral quartz gives you the same warm, organic feel with none of the maintenance. The engineered surface is consistent, hygienic and designed to last decades without resealing or restoration.
Neutral quartz is low-maintenance and forgiving. Mid-toned neutrals hide everyday marks well, making them a practical choice for family kitchens.
Daily cleaning with warm water and a soft cloth is all that's needed. For tougher marks, a non-abrasive cream cleaner works well. Avoid bleach-based cleaners and scouring pads.
