A Masons Mitre Joint is used for all 90 degree corner joints whenever a curved or decorative edge profile is specified. Due to the shaping on the edge profie, a masons mitre joint must be used to ensure an exact fit between the two pieces of worktop. The joint is constructed by cutting into both pieces of worktop at a 45 degree angle for approximately the first 50mm, before it straightened into a standard 90 degree joint line.
