A Breakfront is the design option process used to create the shaping of kitchen designs where there is a 90 degree corner without a join in the worktop. The worktop shape mirrors the cabinet design with an overhang that is consistent with the edge profile.
Breakfront shaping is typically used where the hob or cooktop area of the kitchen cabinets steps forward to allow for a larger appliance. It is also a design option to allow for fewer joins in the worktops by creating an L-shape piece.
A Half Breakfront is where there is a single 90 degree corner in the worktop piece. A Full Breakfront is where there are two 90 degree corners in the worktop piece.
